Project budget analysis [report]
Menu > Everyone > Report Center > Project Financial Reports >
The project budget analysis report provides the ability to compare budget vs actuals for multiple projects. Many of the columns will also provide a drill-down view to the transaction details. Though designed to give an overall comparison against all time of the project, selecting a date range will provide information regarding transactions within the selected range.
How it works
All transactions are selected based on the transaction date, not the posting date and include approved and unapproved transactions. If the report takes too long to run, select search criteria on the Run Report filter options panel to limit the number of projects being processed.
Select the appropriate filters and click Run Report.
Transaction Date Range: If anything other than "ALL" is selected, the results will be limited to the specific range. As budget numbers are at the project level, these fields will always show entire/total budget values.
Project Has Budget Warning: When checked, this will limit the data to projects where the total gross meets or exceeds 80% of the total projects budget.
Results
The grouping and columns of the results can be determined by using Modify

Additonal Info
The purpose of the project budget analysis report and the approved budget page for a project is to allow a manager to view a project in summary or detail (by Project, Task, or Item) against the current budget. On these reports there are several common columns that are used. Users can select the columns they want to view and store these as memorized reports. The report can be run using all transactions (faster) or using a specific date range (slower). All transactions are selected based on transaction date, not posting date and include approved and unapproved transactions. Advance Billings are not included in the Amount Billed column. If the report takes too long to run, select search criteria on the Search Options panel to limit the number of projects being processed.
