Errors: Print to PDF
This guide will assist you with common to complex issues when trying to print to PDF from inside the Workamajig interface.
NOTES:
- Many of today's browsers come with built-in PDF Readers and even built-in Flash Players (i.e. PepperFlash). Workamajig is designed to be compatible with the latest version of Adobes Reader and Flash only. So while the built-in versions may work, we do not support them and we suggest you install and use the Adobe versions if an issue arises.
- When you click PDF in Workamajig, what it actually does is open a new browser page containing the PDF within. This is done so you can use the Email To option in the upper right corner.
- So knowing the above, do not print this web page for your checks. Instead print the PDF itself from the PDF options, not the browser options.
I click PDF from a report/listing/screen and then nothing happens.
If you feel that clicking PDF causes nothing to happen, then here are some things to check for:
- Do you have the true Adobe PDF Reader installed?
- Download the latest Adobe Reader from here:
get.adobe.com/reader/
- Download the latest Adobe Reader from here:
- Is the browser and/or some other installed application blocking pop-ups? Pop-up blockers prevent the pop-up page that contains the embedded PDF to open
- Some browsers have an icon appear in the upper right corner that appears, which can allow pop-ups for this current website.
- Some browsers have a setting or preference that allows you to disable pop-ups overall.
- If you have an onsite IT person or department, please ask them for further assistance with your computer.
- You can do a web search to get support for your browser by locating its pop-up settings.
- Each browser has unique options surrounding pop-ups and settings for using a built-in PDF reader vs. true adobe PDF reader.
The PDF appears, yet is blank or all white.
This is most common with the Safari browser on Macs. To resolve, resize the browser, do not minimize. The details should now appear and you can resize the screen back to how it was.
How do I ensure I am using the true Adobe Reader application to open my PDF with?

My Checks no longer lineup when I print them.
Are you printing from the PDF options or the Web Page/Browser options containing the PDF? This is a common misunderstanding as the PDF is embedded in a new web page.
Make sure you use the PDF print options and not the browser print options.
We recommend you adjust your Print Layout settings to match where you print from (the PDF options and not the browser options).
For the initial setup of printing checks, we highly recommend you turn off Auto Sizing / Scaling is off and that is prints the full page and not reduced in some way. This will help with the consistency of printing checks.
