Order types can be used in varying levels of detail. From just the name of the type being used in reports to additional custom fields being added to the layout of the printed order.
NOTE: Define order types and their full set of features that can apply to all orders in Workamajig. This includes purchase orders, insertion orders, and broadcast orders.
System defaults
With order types set up, you can set one as the 'default PO type'. This way, it's populated whenever you create a new order in the system.
Additionally, you can set a default order types for media (insertion & broadcast) orders.
Add an order type
Click on Insert row and populate the 'type name'.
PO type name - Used to classify your types for data input and report purposes. This does not print on the orders.
Description - Allows you to add an additional detailed description that goes beyond the type name. This does not print on the orders.
Default PO header fields
Pick from a list of predefined order header fields.
This appears on the printout as rows (field name & value). Just below the order header details, but before the standard header text (if used).
Default PO line type
Pick from a list of predefined order line types, each with its own set of fields.
These appear on the printout as sub-rows within each detail line (field name & value), which is after the standard header text (if used) but before the standard footer text (if used).
Standard header text
Pick from a list of predefined standard header texts, as described in the Standard header text [in-depth guide].
This appears on the printout below the order header details and order header fields (if used), but before the line details.
Standard footer text
Pick from a list of predefined standard footer texts.
This appears on the printout below the line details, but before the approval by section.

This example shows an order that was created from an order type that had everything set up.

- The order type cannot be changed after the order has been created.
- You have to manually populate/update the order header fields after you create the order.

NOTE: You have to manually populate/update the line detail fields after you create the order.

NOTE: The order type does not print on the order.
