Burn chart [in-depth guide]
Available on each project dashboard, the burn chart is useful to see how the project is doing based on the actual hours entered each week in comparison to the allocated hours in the schedule duration.
NOTES:
- The burn chart may take some time to calculate for the first viewing.
- To force a refresh of the data, drill into one of the week's detail dots.
- This chart is based solely on allocated hours. So be sure to use Pull From Schedule on your estimates in order to have your budgets, allocations and actual be more aligned.

Turn On Burn Chart
From any project dashboard>...more>System Settings>check Burn Chart>SAVE
Refresh browser tab or Close/Open project dashboard screen to see Burn Chart
Open the burn chart
To view the burn chart, scroll down the project details from the left side of the project and click on Burn Chart.
Burn chart overview
The burn chart will show you in weeks, the hours & gross amounts. Plus it tells you plainly if you are over or under the overall allocated hours.
The Hours tab shows allocated hours as compared to actual hours entered.
The Financial tab shows the gross of the hours allocated vs the gross of the actual hours entered.
Both tabs should show a similar trend.
Detailed breakdown
You can click either the actual (blue) or project (red) dot for each week to then get a detailed breakdown of the allocations & actual time entries of that week.
From the detailed breakdown, you can see how the weeks hours reflect in the chart.
