Insert A Sub Task [in-depth guide]
How to Insert A Sub Task | What can be done with these Sub Tasks | Video Demonstration
We have enhanced the power and flexibility of Summary Tasks. Where you can Track Budgets (Estimate) at the Summary level, and then freely Insert A Sub Task below it to act as an action item for someone to do.
This allows you to manage your overall timelines in a more simplified and streamlined way. And then add detailed assignments quickly, for what needs to be done along the way.
How to Insert A Sub Task
From a Summary Task, click the three dots.
Then click on Insert A Sub Task.
This will insert an Indented Sub Task below the Summary Task, and also copy down the assignments, minus the allocation of hours.
Name the task and assign a user.
The assigned user will see the Sub Task as a regular assignment to work on from their Today Creatives. And any time entered to this assignment will be placed against the Summary Task that has Track Budgets checked.
You are in control of whether the user needs any specific allocation of time or not for their assignment.
What can be done with these Sub Tasks
This is where things get interesting!
These Sub Tasks are free to move around as needed and won't conflict with your Summary Task level setup or Estimates and Budgets.
You can even move these Sub Tasks under other Summary Tasks.
Any time that was entered while under a different Summary Task will always be recorded on that Summary Task. And any new time will be recorded under the current Summary Task. Yet the sub tasks assignment will remain constant for the assigned user.
