Mark speaks regularly at marketing events for the 4A's, TAAN, Mirren, MarketingProfs, HOW, MAGNET, ICOM, and Worldwide Partners, among others. Mark is also the author of, "A Website That Works: How Marketing Agencies Can Create Business-Generating Websites."
Vanessa Edwards, Creative Performance Inc.
After a diverse career in aviation and agency ownership, Vanessa Edwards founded Creative Performance Inc., to empower executives and managers in the marketing services industry.
Hailing from Portland, OR, Vanessa graduated from university with a degree in Philosophy. An amateur helicopter and fixed-wing pilot since sixteen, she began her first career as a pilot for LifeFlight. It was here that she was first exposed to, and the learned the value of systems based training, integrated systems and the necessity of maintaining composure under life and death situations. She ended her piloting career in corporate aviation, as one of the youngest pilots ever type-rated in a triple engine jet.
Upon completing her MBA with an emphasis in Finance, Vanessa was recruited by a fellow classmate into becoming the CFO/COO for a digital agency experiencing rapid growth. She was tasked with finding a “middle way” that balanced the needs of finance/accounting, with that of creative, culture and the client. It was during this period that she first deployed Workamajig… with an emphasis on best practices, workflows and obtaining actionable data; tripling agency profit. The agency was acquired in 2010.
Over the last six years, Vanessa has built a consultancy focused on helping agencies through complex organizational change, deploying integrated systems and business intelligence (agency storyboards®) to improve decision making. As a Workamajig® partner, she has helped many of their largest and most complex clients achieve great success with the platform.
David C. Baker, Recourses, Inc
David is an author, speaker, and advisor to independently-owned expert marketing firms. He has worked closely with 800+ in 30+ countries. In addition to licensing some of the financial ratios he has developed to Workamajig, his work has been referenced in the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, USA Today, Inc. Magazine, and fifty others. He lives in Nashville but is on the road every week to a new agency.
Colin Lange, Monaco Lange
Colin has spent more than 15 years building businesses through branding. He co-founded Monaco Lange in 2001, an independent global brand consultancy with national and international clients including American Express, BASF, Anthem, Girl Scouts of the USA and Circle K, and helped create the firm’s proprietary Brand i/o TM process, which integrates research, strategy and creative into a fast and collaborative brand development process.
Colin’s always had a passion for creative problem solving and moving brands to action. Prior to Monaco Lange, he has built brands, lead teams and grown business at iXL, Cox Interactive Media, Ogilvy & Mather, and at Change Technology Partners. Additionally, he has served a number of nonprofits including as board member and Chairman of Career Gear.
Colin is a passionate learner, earning a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University, an MBA in Strategy and Management from the Zicklin School of Business, and has spent over a quarter century studying Chinese martial arts, philosophy and language. His knowledge, experience and training have helped him not only achieve personal balance and harmony but have also guided Monaco Lange’s philosophy on brand strategy.
When he’s not building a brand, you’ll find him playing with his sons, continuing his study of martial arts, or building and riding bicycles.
Becky O'Mara, Matchstic
Becky O'Mara joined the Matchstic team in 2011 and currently serves as its Operations Director. It's her job to oversee business operations and make sure Matchstic has the processes in place to serve its clients well. Beginning as a Project Manager and Traffic Coordinator, she helped establish many of the processes that now undergird Matchstic’s core service offerings. Working in a small, growing agency, she’s also grown accustomed to wearing multiple hats, figuring things out midstream, and paying attention to the numbers that matter. She brings a unique blend of understanding creatives and an ability to bring systems to the creative process. Becky graduated from Stetson University in central Florida with a degree in Political Science in 2003.
Outside of work, Becky can be found working in her garden or chasing her toddler daughter Mary Kate around. She and her husband also run a growing non-profit called the Bearings Bike Shop, dedicated to helping at-risk kids learn the value of hard work and responsibility through bicycles. She and her family live in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lisa King, Spawn Ideas
Lisa is the frugal glue that holds the agency together. She’s as vigilant with our clients’ money as she is with ours and her own. Lisa is tenacious, organized and gets things done, yet has a soft spot in her heart for caretaking staff. She keeps lists of accounting accomplishments like her record achievement of acing all audits. Lisa has been with Spawn Ideas for 24 years. Yep, she’s that girl. When Lisa’s away from the Agency, she’s volunteering or travelling.
Hails from: San Francisco, California but calls Anchorage AK her home.
Education: B.A. Accounting, College of Idaho; MBA, Alaska Pacific University
